"Builders made a horrifying discovery while working on a home, believing they had found human remains that belonged to children. On August 22, Fylde Police revealed in a statement that builders had found the remains in Lytham, Lancashire, the previous weekend. Detective Inspector Andrew Crook from West CID spoke up about the grim findings. "This is an incredibly sad discovery, and we are continuing our enquiries to establish the identity of the remains, including their age and how they died," said Crook."
Builders working on a property on Cleveland Road in Lytham contacted Fylde Police at 12:37 PM on August 15 after finding bones. Police confirmed the remains were human and said enquiries suggest they may belong to children and represent an isolated historical burial. Detective Inspector Andrew Crook described the discovery as incredibly sad and said investigators are working to establish identity, age and cause of death. Police stated the incident is not being treated as suspicious while keeping an open mind. Remains were removed from the property and homeowners and contractors were thanked; the exact location and age of the bones remain unknown.
