Detective superintendent Mike Brown of Suffolk Police stated, 'their deaths came after the yacht Bayesian sank rapidly between 4.15am and 4.45am on 19 August.' He noted that while the cause of sinking remains unclear, a total of 15 occupants were rescued but 7 were reported missing before the search operation commenced.
The yacht was located 0.8 nautical miles from Porticello, waving a British flag before it sank during a severe storm. The cause of this tragedy, as of now, is not fully determined.
Inquiries into the deaths of Mike Lynch, his daughter Hannah, and the Bloomers are ongoing. The inquests have been adjourned until a further hearing on 15 April next year, indicating a continued investigation into this unfortunate incident.
A provisional medical examination recorded Dr. Lynch's cause of death as drowning, while the circumstances surrounding the other deaths, including Hannah Lynch's, are still under investigation.
