Prolific shoplifter jailed for 3,800 raids on same All Saints branch at London St Pancras station
"I'd like to recognise the awareness and proactivity of our officers in identifying Zenith, then quickly working to link him to further offences. This fast-paced investigative work allowed us to arrest, charge, and bring him before the courts in just two days. His imprisonment demonstrates our determination to tackle theft across the railway network. By using targeted patrols, intelligence and thorough investigative work, we are ensuring offenders are identified quickly and held accountable,"
"CCTV checks showed him entering the shop and calmly snatching two jumpers and two leather jackets worth almost 1,300 before leaving. Another officer then identified Lawrence as a suspect for a further three offences, all at the same outlet. On December 4, he stole a jumper, while on 11 days later he pinched two women's leather jackets and a bag."
Zenith Lawrence, 24, stole about £3,800 worth of clothing from the All Saints branch in central London. Plain-clothes officers at St Pancras International spotted him on January 17 and detained him after linking CCTV footage to the theft of two jumpers and two leather jackets worth almost £1,300. Police identified Lawrence in connection with three further offences at the same outlet in December, including the theft of multiple leather jackets and a bag. Lawrence, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to four counts of theft and was jailed for 12 weeks at Westminster Magistrates' Court on January 19. Police cited targeted patrols and rapid investigations.
