Corporal Lucy Wilde, 25, was found dead in her barracks in Warminster, Wiltshire, on 5 February, and a Ministry of Defence investigation is under way. Wilde posted videos on TikTok documenting daily life in the army and had served for eight years, joining the Welsh Guards until December 2025 before promotion to corporal and a move to the Royal Yorkshire Regiment. Senior figures and family paid tribute, recalling her warmth, compassion and resilience. The Welsh Guards highlighted her professionalism and courage after she was first on the scene of a mass casualty incident in the Falklands.
