PE teacher banned after ringing colleague 70 times on Christmas Day
A PE teacher, Ben Russell, was banned from the classroom after a prohibition order issued by the Teaching Regulation Authority. Russell worked at the Ellis Guilford School in Nottingham from September 2014 until suspension in January 2022. Allegations about his conduct were considered proven by a panel, leading to the order on 7 May. The panel found Russell swore at a colleague, Person A, during a lunch break in November 2021. The panel also found Russell sent Facebook messages to another colleague, Person B, about Person A, using abusive language and describing Person A as “evil.” Person B reported the messages to the school. Russell pleaded guilty to harassment and was found in possession of cocaine.
