"A mother was left seriously injured after gunshots were fired through the front door of her home on Christmas Eve while her one-year-old son was inside, police say."
"This was a shocking act of violence, carried out at a family home where a young child was present. It is vital we identify those responsible and ensure justice for the victim. We know there will be people who saw or heard something that could help us. Even if the information seems minor, please come forward. We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was in the area of Cronin Street, Commercial Way or Moody Road between 21:45 and 23:45hrs on the evening of Wednesday, December 24."
Gunshots were fired through the front door of a home on Cronin Street, Peckham, between 10:30pm and 11pm on December 24. Two male suspects fired seven shots into the address. A woman in her 20s sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to hospital in a potentially life-threatening condition; she remained in critical care over Christmas and is now on a ward receiving treatment. Her one-year-old son was inside the home at the time. The suspects fled on foot towards Commercial Way; both wore dark clothing, one with a grey hoodie believed to be carrying the gun. An appeal requested witnesses who were in the area between 21:45 and 23:45 to come forward.
