Moment knifeman who left his victim for dead caught hiding under loft insulation

"James Pedley, 41, of Elder Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield, left his victim with serious injuries after he repeatedly stabbed him during a brawl on 11 October, 2025."

"Nottinghamshire Police officers responded to calls from an eye-witness and discovered the victim, a man in his 40s, lying on the floor covered in blood."

"On Friday (27 March), Pedley was jailed for a total of 14 years after being found guilty of committing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place."

"Hoff, 37, of Newcastle Street, Huthwaite, and Horton, 34, of Sherwood Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield, have both pleaded guilty to assisting an offender and will be sentenced at a later date."

James Pedley, 41, was convicted of grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon after stabbing a man during a brawl on October 11, 2025. Following the attack, Pedley fled the scene but was later located by Nottinghamshire Police hiding under loft insulation at an address in Sutton-in-Ashfield. He received a 14-year prison sentence. Two accomplices, Kurt Horton and Tracey Hoff, pleaded guilty to assisting an offender and are awaiting sentencing.
