Mike Gaine search: Forensic investigators arrive at missing Kerry man's farm as suspected body parts are found

An Garda Síochána initiated a renewed search after a public report suggested the discovery of possible human remains at Mike Gaine's farm. Initial findings indicate the tissue may be human, prompting further investigations by the Garda Technical Bureau and the State Pathologist's office. Previously classified as a homicide investigation, this search signifies a new phase, following extensive efforts to locate the missing farmer, who was last seen on March 20. The discovery follows a new tip-off, suggesting the area requires further scrutiny despite earlier searches not yielding results.

As a consequence, An Garda Síochána reconvened a search in this area and recovered body tissue, a senior source has confirmed.

"We got a phone call from a third party and a search was recommenced. The indications are that the body tissue is likely to be human," according to the senior source.
