According to Nationwide Building Society, UK house prices grew by 3.2% in September compared to a year ago, marking the fastest annual rate in nearly two years.
Robert Gardner, Nationwide's chief economist, noted that income growth has outstripped house price growth recently while lower borrowing costs have improved affordability for buyers.
The average house price in the UK has reached 266,094, with Northern Ireland seeing the strongest annual growth at 8.6% year-on-year.
Despite a 0.7% monthly increase, housing market activity remains subdued compared to historical standards, reflecting a broader trend of stagnant property values.
