Additional policing resources will be seen in the town as enquiries progress, Mr Evans said. This type of incident is highly unusual for the area, and I want to be clear that we will not tolerate violence of any sort in our community."
James McKenna, 57, has been named as wanted in connection with an attempted murder after an incident in Carmarthen Park between 3pm and 4pm on Thursday. A woman was taken to hospital and remains in a stable condition. McKenna is missing and believed local to the Carmarthen area with links to Ireland; enquiries have been made at ports and transport hubs. Additional policing resources are deployed in the town for reassurance while scenes remain in place. The scene presence has caused disruption to residents; scenes are hoped to be released as enquiries continue. Anyone who has seen McKenna should not approach him but should contact 101 or report online.
