Man with dentist phobia sees teeth 'crumble away'
Briefly

Lajos Csendes, a 31-year-old florist with a severe dentist phobia, saw his teeth decay and face bones deteriorate due to avoidance of dental care. Despite genetics contributing to his dental issues, frequent dental visits could have helped. After experiencing a serious infection that spread to his bloodstream, he sought specialized treatment in Hungary. Mr. Csendes is fundraising for an extensive restoration procedure, which he finds necessary due to the overwhelming fear of traditional dentists, pointing out the need for addressing mental health in dental settings.
They thought I was joking when I said I have this fear. It makes me have nightmares. I hope people realize it really affects me and is a serious issue.
In 2024, Mr Csendes thought he was having a heart attack, only to discover that an infection from his teeth had entered his bloodstream and spread towards his heart.
They plan to take my teeth roots out and then open up the part of my face, above my mouth, and screw in metal bolts into my upper and lower jaw.
His struggle with severe dental phobia has led to deteriorating health, emphasizing the critical importance of understanding and addressing mental health issues in dental care.
