Aaron Thomas Curragh, 34, from Belfast, was sentenced to 31 months for sending threatening messages online to Deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly and causing criminal damage to a colleague's office. Curragh's threats included a video suggesting he knew Mrs. Little-Pengelly's whereabouts and described her as having a 'death threat' from her own party. The Deputy First Minister felt so threatened by his posts that she considered relocating from her home. Curragh admitted to several charges but denied others related to further damage to a DUP member's office in December 2023.
"It's a real shame I can't upload where I am... but I hope you're alive by the time I get uploading Emma."
"The court heard that Curragh posted a series of tweets about Emma Little-Pengelly on 8 July 2024, making threats that deeply frightened her."
