Man found guilty of murder of woman at Notting Hill carnival

Shakeil Thibou, 20, has been convicted of murdering 32-year-old Cher Maximen during the Notting Hill Carnival's family day, where he stabbed her while her three-year-old daughter was nearby. Thibou was found guilty with a jury decision of 10 to 2, amidst a chaotic incident that included an attack on another victim and assault on police officers. His brother Sheldon was also convicted of violent disorder, while another brother was cleared of disorder but convicted of assault. The injuries inflicted on Ms Maximen were fatal. The defendant had killed her. It was a truly shocking attack, and regarded as such by those around it.

The Old Bailey heard that a disturbance broke out involving the defendants and at least two other men, leading to the tragic incident.
As the commotion escalated, PC Oliver Mort attempted to intervene, but was assaulted by Sheldon and Shaeim Thibou.
