Caspar San Giorgio, 38 years old with no fixed address, was arrested shortly after 04:00 on Friday following an incident involving graffiti sprayed on the statue of Sir Winston Churchill located in Parliament Square. He was taken into custody and subsequently charged on Saturday morning with criminal damage. San Giorgio has been remanded into custody pending his court appearance at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court scheduled for later that morning.
