Man accused of women's murders appears in court
"found in the early evening of 17 March in a block of flats very largely disused, so it does not contain many residents nor many people passing by apart from the odd security officer who patrol the area for safety"
"The position her body was left in is similar to that of the other murder."
Simon Levy, 40, of Beaufoy Road, Tottenham, appeared via video-link at the Old Bailey charged with murdering two women and with additional sexual offences. He is accused of killing Sheryl Wilkins, 39, found unresponsive on High Road, Tottenham on 24 August, and Carmenza Valencia‑Trujillo, 53, found at a Walworth property on 17 March. Prosecutors allege Valencia‑Trujillo was discovered in the early evening in a largely disused block of flats and that Levy travelled there the day before and killed her during a sexual encounter; her body position matched that of the other victim. Levy also faces charges including grievous bodily harm with intent, non‑fatal strangulation and two counts of rape relating to a 21 January incident. He was remanded in custody with a trial set to start in June and a further hearing scheduled for 23 February. The Metropolitan Police appealed for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
