Michael Course, a 70-year-old man, tragically died in a car accident in Bexley, believed to be after a driver lost control and crashed into a fence. The incident occurred on June 21, around 11 PM, and resulted in a 67-year-old woman sustaining life-changing injuries, now critical in hospital. The 26-year-old driver has been arrested under suspicion of dangerous driving. Tributes have since emerged at the crash site, highlighting the sorrow within the community, while police seek witnesses and footage to aid their investigation.
Detective Sergeant Rob Harris, from the Met's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: 'As our enquiries continue, we are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time.'
Flowers and tributes have been left at the scene of the crash. One note reads: 'Gone but never forgotten. Rest in peace.'
