Man (50s) killed in single vehicle crash in Co Mayo

In a serious road incident on the R323, Knock Road, Ballyhaunis, a man in his 50s lost his life. The crash occurred around 10.10pm, leading to an immediate response from Garda and emergency services who pronounced the man dead at the scene. His body has been transported to the Mayo University Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The road has been closed for forensic investigation, with local diversions implemented. Authorities are requesting witnesses, particularly those with dash-cam footage from the relevant time period, to come forward to assist in the investigation.
The sole occupant of the car, a man aged in his 50s, was pronounced dead after gardai and emergency services arrived at the scene.
A garda spokesman also appealed for any witnesses to come forward, especially those with dash-cam footage from the area between 9.30pm to 10.30pm.
