A serious collision involving three vehicles took place on the R336 in Barna, Co Galway, late last night, leading to the tragic death of a young man in his twenties, who was driving one of the cars. Following the accident, the road is closed for investigation by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators while diversions are provided for motorists. Gardaí are actively seeking witnesses and any relevant dash-cam footage from the incident to aid their inquiries, urging the public to come forward with information.
The man, aged in his 20s, who was the driver of one of the cars, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road between Barna and Furbo is currently closed this morning to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
Local diversions are in place while motorists are advised to take the N59 route.
Gardaí are now appealing for any witnesses of this collision to contact them.
