London tourist missing after fire rips through diving boat in Thailand

A 26-year-old British tourist, Alexandra Clarke, is missing following a fire that engulfed the diving boat Davy Jones Locker near Koh Tao, Thailand. The incident occurred as tourists were aboard, with Clarke reportedly in the toilet when the fire erupted from the engine. Footage has shown how the diving boat was completely engulfed in flames, as holidaymakers watched on in horror. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
According to local authorities, 16 tourists were on board the boat, called the Davy Jones Locker, when the fire broke out at around 9am local time off the island of Koh Tao.
The toilet is located at the back of the boat on the bottom deck next to the engine. Alexandra Clarke, 26, was reportedly using the toilet when a blaze erupted from the engine.
A spokesperson for the Foreign Office said: We are supporting the family of a British woman who is missing in Thailand and are in contact with local authorities.
