Up to a million supporters had gathered to celebrate Liverpool's 20th league title in a 10-mile parade in the city. Paul Doyle, 53, a former Royal Marine, denied 31 charges at Liverpool Crown Court via video link, entering not guilty pleas relating to 29 victims aged between six months and 77 years. Merseyside Police said 134 people were injured when Doyle allegedly drove his Ford Galaxy Titanium into crowds leaving the city centre victory parade on 26 May. He appeared to shake his head and later cried in court. He is charged with 18 counts of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent, nine counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, two counts of wounding with intent, dangerous driving and affray, and has been remanded in custody.
