Daniel Khalife, a 23-year-old former British Army soldier, is being sentenced for spying for Iran after exposing military personnel to serious risk. He joined the Army in 2018 and served with the Royal Corps of Signals. Khalife was paid in cash for confidential information, which he passed to Iranian agents. His escape from HMP Wandsworth in September 2023 added to his charges, as he clung to a food delivery truck to flee. Ultimately, he was found guilty of breaching the Official Secrets Act and the Terrorism Act in November.
