The John Lewis Partnership plans to hire 12,500 temporary staff this festive season, representing an increase of 4,100 workers from last year to handle seasonal demand.
Roles will be spread across John Lewis and Waitrose locations, with Waitrose set to fill 7,700 seasonal roles to prepare for peak trading during major sales events.
Recruitment is well underway, with strong interest resulting in very few vacancies left across the 34 John Lewis stores and over 300 Waitrose supermarkets.
In addition to new store hires, the retailer is collaborating with agencies to recruit 2,800 supply chain employees, ensuring operational readiness for the festive season.
