With Christmas almost upon us, many households are having to cut back on seasonal expenditure in response to the cost of living crisis.A survey of 2,772 members of the public by the charity Oxfam in late November found that 35 per cent of shoppers said they were planning to cut back this year, citing the economic turmoil, spiralling energy bills and debt fears as reasons behind their pivot towards thriftiness.
