The Vivienne, the winner of Drag Race UK season one, passed away on January 5 at the age of 32 due to cardiac arrest caused by ketamine use. Her family has expressed devastation and is collaborating with a substance abuse charity to raise awareness about the dangers of ketamine, which is increasingly used recreationally, particularly among youth. In their statements, family members and the drag star's manager emphasized the importance of discussing the drug’s risks, in hopes of preventing similar tragedies in the future.
Williams, who won the inaugural season of Drag Race UK season one in 2019, died on 5 January this year, aged 32.
Ketamine is an extremely dangerous drug that is becoming more and more prevalent in the UK. If we can help raise awareness of the dangers of this drug and help people who may be dealing with ketamine addiction then something positive will come from this complete tragedy.
I hope that by us releasing this information, we can raise awareness about the dangers of ongoing ketamine usage and what it can do to your body.
Ketamine usage is on the rise, particularly amongst young people, and I don't think the full dangers of the drug are being discussed.
