Anthony McGinn (62) has pleaded guilty to dangerous driving which resulted in the deaths of Kiea McCann (17) and Dlava Mohamed (16). The incident occurred on July 31, 2023, as McGinn was transporting the teens to a debs ball in Monaghan. Reports indicate that he was driving nearly twice the speed limit and disregarded repeated calls from his passengers to reduce speed. The tragic crash took place on a section of the N54 at Legnakelly near Clones, where McGinn lost control and hit a tree.
Anthony McGinn, who was driving nearly twice the speed limit, ignored pleas from his passengers to slow down before crashing the vehicle that killed two teenagers.
The court heard that McGinn had already pleaded guilty in January to the charge of dangerous driving, which led to the tragic deaths of Kiea McCann and Dlava Mohamed.
