"A cyclist has died after a collision with a car on a busy east London road. Metropolitan Police officers attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service, where they found a 23-year-old cyclist with serious injuries. The young man was taken to the hospital, and despite the best efforts of hospital staff, he died on January 19. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers from the Met's Serious Collision Investigation Unit."

We are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision and would urge anyone who witnessed what happened, or who may have dashcam or CCTV footage from the area at the time, to come forward as soon as possible."
