Briefly

A recent investigation by the Commission of Enquiry on Enforced Disappearances (CEED) in Bangladesh has found at least 330 individuals, reported missing after being taken by authorities, are presumed dead. Moinul Islam Chowdhury, the commission's leader, indicated that high-ranking officials affiliated with former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who fled the country amidst unrest, were complicit in these enforced disappearances. While some victims reappeared, many are still unaccounted for, and a total of 1,752 disappearances have been officially reported, heightening concerns among affected families.
'We have received a list of 1,067 Bangladeshis incarcerated in Indian prisons over the last two to two and a half years. We are in the process of checking if any of them were victims of enforced disappearance.'
'For six years, I have been waiting for my husband after RAB men abducted him.' - Nasrin Jahan Smrity, expressing the pain of enduring the absence of her missing husband.
