'And that was my last forecast' - Joanna Donnelly signs off on last RTE weather forecast in unexpected announcement
Briefly

Ms. Donnelly surprised viewers by announcing her departure from the weather forecast during her broadcast, prompting speculation about its permanence. In an Instagram post, she expressed gratitude for nearly a decade of forecasting, emphasizing her joy from the experience and participation in Dancing with the Stars. Despite the ambiguity, she assured fans her exit was not linked to her job performance. Reflecting on her 30 years at Met Éireann, Donnelly expressed uncertainty about her next chapter but looks forward to future endeavors.
"I didn't want to leave without saying goodbye. I had been on the weather forecast for nearly 10 years," she said on Instagram last night, addressing the confusion.
"I do want to say my leaving has nothing to do with my work product. I've always given the very best I could to the weather forecast. So I hope anybody wondering what happened, it wasn't the forecast," the 54-year-old Dubliner said via her Instagram story.
"I'm on TV nearly 10 years, but 30 years [at Met Éireann} has flown by. And now what? I don't know, we will see what happens next. Chapter three," she said.
"It has flown by," the mother-of-three said.
