Reopening Tahoe state park stalled again for maintenance
Briefly

D.L. Bliss State Park will remain mostly closed into summer 2025 due to ongoing maintenance work to replace waterline infrastructure, marking three consecutive summers of partial closure.
California State Parks announced that this extension is necessary for completing waterline infrastructure work, as the contractor has fallen behind schedule and made errors resulting in environmental violations.
While the campground remains closed, some day-use areas like Lester Beach and Calawee Cove will be open this summer, but there will be no restroom or trash services.
Access to D.L. Bliss is limited; visitors can only reach the park by foot from nearby Emerald Bay or by boat, with all internal roads remaining closed during construction.
