For Bay Area drivers, a turn to Tahoe has never been easier to miss
Briefly

A crucial turn on Interstate 80 towards Tahoe is becoming increasingly difficult to navigate due to a multimillion-dollar rehabilitation project by Caltrans. This construction has obscured the exit that allows drivers to bypass downtown Sacramento and avoid significant traffic. Many drivers, familiar with the route, may miss this turn, especially as they make the transition shortly after the Yolo Causeway. Additionally, confusion arises from the existence of two distinct I-80s in Sacramento, which further complicates the driving experience.
The ongoing multimillion dollar pavement rehabilitation project between Davis and West Sacramento is obscuring the crucial exit for motorists heading towards Tahoe.
Caltrans spokesperson Dennis Keaton noted many drivers accustomed to continuing straight after the Yolo Causeway may easily miss the connector due to construction.
