Briony May Williams' Guide To Bristol
"I'm born and bred Bristol. I went away for uni, did some travelling, and when I came back, I knew I wanted to settle here. I'm so glad I did. The best thing about Bristol is how much it has to offer. You've got the museums and culture, but also so much green space - the Downs, parks, and trees everywhere. People are often surprised by how green Bristol is. And then there's the food, we have so much."
"There are cool spaces like Wapping Wharf with amazing eateries, and then proper institutions that have been around for years, like Bravas, my favourite tapas restaurant in Bristol, the best ever. And the pubs! My favourite is The Gloucester Old Spoton Kellaway Avenue. We're honestly spoilt for choice here."
Bristol features a distinctive identity visible in architecture, street art, music, and engineering landmarks such as the Clifton Suspension Bridge. The city produced iconic street artist Banksy and musical acts like Massive Attack. A varied food and drink scene ranges from Wapping Wharf eateries to long-established institutions like Bravas tapas and traditional pubs such as The Gloucester Old Spot on Kellaway Avenue. Extensive green spaces including the Downs and numerous parks give Bristol an unexpectedly leafy character. The city's compact size makes walking the preferred way to discover hidden local haunts and varied culinary offerings.
