"Today, an absolute tragedy occurred with one of our airline service providers. We had a Cessna 208, Kamaka Airlines plane, crash into the building behind me. Two souls were on board, both perished."
"Fortunately, the building is an abandoned building, so it was a best case scenario, no one else was involved," said Honolulu Fire Department Chief Sheldon Hao.
The airplane is owned by Kamaka Air, an interisland airline flying to Molokai and Lanai that also offers air cargo services and charter flights.
A pilot onboard Kamaka Air 689 allegedly told the control tower at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport, 'We're out of control here.'
