Tesla Giga Berlin hits new milestone by producing 500k Model Y

Tesla has celebrated the production of its 500,000th Model Y at the Giga Berlin-Brandenburg plant, a milestone shared through social media. The factory, opened in March 2022 after overcoming various construction delays, took just over 1,100 days to achieve this output. Although its pace is slower than that of Giga Shanghai, it significantly contributes to Tesla's overall manufacturing efforts. The facility currently produces only the Model Y, catering to numerous markets, and plans for expansion are underway to increase annual production capacity beyond 375,000 vehicles.

Despite facing delays during construction, Giga Berlin officially opened in March 2022 and has reached a notable production milestone within slightly over 1,100 days.
The factory manager emphasized that Giga Berlin not only serves the German market but also exports vehicles to 37 other markets globally.
Following the production milestone, Tesla's Giga Berlin is projected to further enhance its capacity, with plans to produce over 375,000 vehicles annually.
