Instacart appoints insider Chris Rogers as CEO
Briefly

Instacart has named Chris Rogers, the current chief business officer, as its new CEO, effective August 15, to succeed Fidji Simo who is leaving to join OpenAI. Rogers aims to innovate grocery delivery through strategic partnerships and investments in technology. He has a notable background, including managing director at Apple Canada. Simo, who will remain with Instacart as chair during the transition, emphasized that Rogers has significantly influenced many successful initiatives, including retail strategy and advertising platform growth, which have led to strong demand and positive financial forecasts for the company.
"We will invent the future of grocery with our partners by continuing to invest in cutting-edge enterprise tools and technologies, as well as enhance our leading advertising ecosystem," said Rogers in a blog post.
"Because everything we (Instacart) do is in partnership with our retail and brand partners, there isn't a single thing we've done in the last few years that Chris hasn't had his fingerprints on," said Simo in a memo.
"From our retail enablement strategy and omnichannel expansion to the massive growth and evolution of our advertising platform, Chris has been a driving force behind all of these initiatives," Simo added.
