Transit advocacy group TTCriders criticized the TTC's use of plainclothes fare inspectors, arguing it could create mistrust and lead to scams targeting unsuspecting riders.
The TTC aims to address the estimated $140 million lost to fare evasion annually by reintroducing plainclothes inspectors, previously tested in 2018.
