The city of Toronto is currently meeting its pothole repair targets less than half the time for local roads and only 27 percent for expressways.
City staff highlighted that previous measures of service requests were inaccurate as they counted inspections as completed, even if potholes were not filled.
Barbara Gray indicated that the new measure for service requests will only count those closed once a pothole is actually repaired.
City manager Paul Johnson emphasized the importance of setting realistic expectations that the city can achieve without compromising maintenance standards.
