This year marks notable anniversaries: 80 years since D-Day, a decade post-Canadian peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan, and the centennial of the Royal Canadian Air Force.
The Old City Hall ceremony will feature silent sentries from the 48th Highlanders, adding a historical touch with uniforms from different eras, enhancing the solemn atmosphere.
The ceremony at Old City Hall will also include a flypast by the Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association, commemorating the aircraft used for training during the Second World War.
