Seven Toronto daycares, initially planning to opt out of the national $10-a-day child care program and raise fees significantly, have decided to remain within the subsidized system. This decision follows feedback from parents and discussions with child-care professionals. Specifically, Sunnyside Day Care announced lower fees of $478.50 a month, responding to families' concerns about the impact of previous withdrawal notices. The centers are now eager to explore more viable options for child care access and choices with local government and other operators.
As a result of staying within the $10-a-day system, the fee for all spots will now be $478.50 per month.
