""This is not something you would ever expect to see while driving on the highway,""
""Anyone in their right mind would never do something like that,""
""So that's what we're trying to figure out: what was going on with this driver going the wrong way on a divided highway?""
""Sometimes it's just a matter of a blink of an eye,""
On the evening of Sept. 7 around 6 p.m., a 21-year-old man drove eastbound into oncoming westbound traffic on Highway 401 near James Snow Parkway in Milton. Dashcam footage shows a dark Honda sedan traveling through oncoming lanes, narrowly missing the vehicle recording the video and sideswiping several cars before crashing into a light post. Mississauga OPP officers arrested the driver after he attempted to flee the crash. The accused faces charges including dangerous driving, failing to remain at the scene, and driving the wrong way on a divided highway while investigators probe possible impairment. No injuries were reported and evasive actions by other drivers helped avoid potentially tragic outcomes.
