Pedestrian dies in hospital after being struck by vehicle: Peel police | CBC News
"Officers responded around 7:10 p.m. near Lakeshore Road and Stavebank Road on Thursday after a blue Chevy Trax struck a pedestrian "crossing midblock," said Cst. Tyler Bell-Morena in an emailed statement Friday."
"At the scene, they found the pedestrian in life-threatening condition and he was taken to hospital by Peel paramedics. The man later died of his injuries in hospital."
"An adult male driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with police, he said, adding the major collision bureau is investigating the incident."
A pedestrian in his 70s was struck by a blue Chevy Trax near Lakeshore Road and Stavebank Road in Mississauga on Thursday evening around 7:10 p.m. The man was crossing midblock when the collision occurred. Emergency responders found him in life-threatening condition and transported him to hospital via Peel paramedics. He subsequently died from his injuries. The adult male driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police. Peel police's major collision bureau is investigating the incident.
