Man dead after being struck by vehicle in Brampton, police say | CBC News
"A man has died in hospital after he was hit by a vehicle in Brampton on Thursday afternoon, Peel police say. The collision happened on Mississauga Road just north of Williams Parkway, according to Const. Taylor Halfyard, spokesperson for the Peel Regional Police. Officers were called to the area for a pedestrian struck by a vehicle at about 2:30 p.m. When police arrived, they found the man with critical injuries. Peel paramedics took the man to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead."
"Next of kin is still being notified. His age has not been released. The driver remained at the scene and is co-operating with police, he said. Halfyard said the evidence suggests that the pedestrian was crossing the road mid-block when he was struck by the driver. Police have closed roads in the area but they are expected to be reopened shortly."
