Intimate partner violence study cut short as Ontario eyes early election | CBC News
Briefly

Victims of intimate partner violence are disappointed as election speculation has forced an Ontario legislative committee to rush its study on the matter.
Jess Dixon, the Progressive Conservative co-lead said, 'I don’t know if there will be an early election, but given everything is possible and given everything that we’ve worked on, I’m expediting the timeline.'
Kristyn Wong-Tam, co-lead from the New Democrat, expressed her frustration saying, 'This whole process is very much becoming a farce,' reflecting on the hurriedness of the committee's actions.
The justice policy subcommittee had completed Phase 1 after engaging with nearly 90 witnesses, but planned extensive discussions with survivors were canceled due to the compressed timeline.
