Police in Barrie reported that a man driving a street sweeper was arrested for drunk driving after his erratic driving led to the vehicle getting stuck in a ditch.
Authorities received calls about a street sweeper driving into oncoming traffic at around 7:15 p.m., leading to the arrest of a 35-year-old local man.
The man, employed by a private company in the Greater Toronto Area, has been charged with impaired driving and his license has been suspended for 90 days.
Barrie police confirmed that the driver was not actively sweeping when the incident occurred, and the reason for his presence in Barrie remains unknown.
