The Ontario Provincial Police have upgraded charges against a 19-year-old who allegedly threatened Collingwood high school, now facing attempted murder and multiple serious offenses.
Initially charged with threats to cause death, the former student’s plans to harm students were found to be 'elaborate and well-researched' after a police investigation.
The accused, from Clearview Township, now faces over a dozen charges including attempted murder, with court proceedings scheduled for January 20 in Barrie, Ont.
Police first received reports about the threat in September concerning Collingwood Collegiate Institute, stemming from a potential threat made earlier in March.
