Peel police reported the arrest of Awil Hassan Abdi, a 38-year-old man, who allegedly stole nearly $260,000 worth of goods in multiple thefts from LCBO stores.
The investigation showed that $160,000 of the total goods stolen were from locations within Peel Region, occurring between October 2023 and September 2024.
Abdi is facing multiple charges including three counts of theft over $5,000 and 16 counts of theft under $5,000, alongside a breach of probation.
Peel Regional Police acknowledged the collaboration with the LCBO Resource Protection Team, expressing gratitude for their assistance in the investigation related to the string of thefts.
