According to Deadline, Apple TV+ is moving forward with a fourth season of the popular English soccer comedy. The streamer recently picked up the options of three core cast members - Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift - and preparations have been made to open a writers room.
Sudeikis previously suggested that season 3 would be Ted Lasso's final season. 'The story that I know is the one that I wanted to tell... is one that I see, know, and understood.' However, he never entirely ruled out a fourth season.
Co-creator Bill Lawrence stated the decision for a fourth season is up to Sudeikis, explaining: 'Whatever Jason feels like doing, and whatever his decision is, we're all down with it.' This highlights the collaborative spirit and respect for Sudeikis's vision.
Deadline notes that Ted Lasso star and co-creator Jason Sudeikis does not yet have a deal in place, but it's unlikely that Apple TV+ would have begun development on a fourth season without his consent.
