Ryan Hurst will portray Kratos in the upcoming God of War live-action TV series and posted that he is "grateful to pick up the axe." He previously played Thor in God of War Ragnarok. The series is expected to follow the events of 2018's God of War and 2022's God of War Ragnarok, focusing on Kratos and his son Atreus. Filming is reportedly set to begin in Vancouver in March, with additional casting to be announced. Ronald D. Moore is showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios produce the series for Prime Video. Frederick E.O. Toye will direct the first two episodes. No release date or new game announcements yet.
