"You've never seen Spider-Man like this before. Following our own exclusive first look at the series, Prime Video has unleashed the first trailers (yes, plural) for Spider-Noir. The new Marvel series takes place in its own universe to follow Ben Reilly, played by Nicolas Cage, a gumshoe detective in 1930s New York City who prowls rooftops as his own masked Spider-Man. He's called-wait for it-"The Spider.""
"For a minute and a half, Spider-Noir teases a more troubled Spider-Man than the friendly neighborhood web-slinger fans are used to seeing. This Spider-Man is a World War I veteran grieving the loss someone close to him; a bite from a peacock spider gives him superhuman powers, but it doesn't leave him totally put-together. There's plenty of quick-cuts full of strange imagery removed of any context. But it's definitely a grim New York City we're walking into here: evil doctors, nightclubs,"
Prime Video released trailers for Spider-Noir offering two presentation options: Authentic Black and White and True-Hue Full Color. Nicolas Cage voices Ben Reilly, a gumshoe detective and masked Spider-Man known as The Spider, in a 1930s New York setting. Ben Reilly is portrayed as a World War I veteran grieving the loss of someone close, whose peacock-spider bite grants superhuman powers but leaves him unsettled. Li Jun Li appears as a new version of Black Cat. The series emphasizes noir aesthetics, grim urban threats, vigilante action, strange quick-cut imagery, and a tone distinct from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
