"Walton Goggins, in all his glory, in a gorgeous, retrofuturistic, school-bus-yellow kitchen. A bowl of flea soup for sale, exactly what it sounds like. Yes, Fallout, the TV show, is back for its second season, with the first episode on Prime Video as of Tuesday evening. (The streamer, likely pleased by how popular Season 1 was with viewers, is going to release this season's eight episodes weekly, through February.)"
"In Season 1, Lucy (Ella Purnell), a sunny vault-dweller who has grown up in comfort and safety, and who worships her father Hank (Kyle MacLachlan), emerges onto the surface of the wasteland after a war erupts inside her vault and raiders capture her father. While searching for him, she's captured by the bounty hunter Ghoul (Goggins), a former movie-star cowboy named Cooper Howard, who has been irradiated into a precarious immortality and lost both his nose and his prewar idealism."
Season 2 of Fallout returns with vivid retrofuturistic visuals, dark comedy, and violent surrealism. The story remains set about 200 years after a nuclear war that upended civilization and sent some survivors into Vault-Tec bunkers. Lucy, a vault-raised idealist, leaves her vault after internal conflict and raids and becomes allied with Ghoul, an irradiated former movie-star bounty hunter. Lucy pursues Hank through the vault court system while Ghoul searches vault after vault for a cryo-frozen wife and daughter he believes may still be alive. New episodes premiere weekly on Prime Video through February.
