""We still love each other deeply. I just think we don't want to live with each other. But there's a lot of love there," Dane said. "I will have never ― by the time anybody sees this ― have fallen in love with another woman as deeply as I fell in love with Rebecca. She's the mother of my children.""
""Eric and I are not a couple; we're family.""
""Our love may not be romantic, but it's a familial love," she explained. "Eric knows that I am always going to want the best for him. That I'm going to do my best to do right by him. And I know he would do the same for me.""
Netflix released "Famous Last Words: Eric Dane," a 50-minute interview recorded in November and scheduled for release after his death. Dane described his relationship with wife Rebecca Gayheart as deeply loving but no longer romantic, saying they do not want to live together while remaining committed as family and parents to daughters Billie, 15, and Georgia, 14. Dane died Thursday from complications of ALS. Dane and Gayheart were married 22 years; Gayheart filed for divorce in 2018 but withdrew the petition in March last year. Gayheart said her husband's health changed her approach and affirmed a familial, supportive partnership.
